His profound work ethic and technical expertise contributed meaningfully to an often-overlooked field, underscoring his commitment to supporting families during their most difficult moments. Launch’s educational foundation was firmly established with a Bachelor’s degree from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, which served as a springboard for his professional achievements.

He was also a decorated military veteran, having served two terms in Iraq during Operation Desert Storm. This experience profoundly shaped his character, instilling in him qualities of discipline, leadership, and resilience that permeated both his career and personal life.

Launch’s passion extended beyond his professional pursuits into the realm of sports, where he excelled as a football player and coach. He was the honored captain of his high school football team, earning all-county and all-conference honors in the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference—a testament to his leadership and athletic prowess. He continued to nurture his love for football by coaching for ten years. Additionally, Launch devoted time to coaching his sons’ soccer teams through elementary and middle school, fostering teamwork, determination, and enthusiasm in young athletes.

Known for his deep integrity, Launch was a devout Catholic and a pillar of strength to his family. Time spent at family gatherings, cookouts, and attending sporting events by his side remain cherished memories for those who knew him well.

Launch is survived by his sister Sarah Johnson, brother-in-law Tom Johnson, and close friend Rachel Lee, who remember him for his steadfast character and generous spirit. He was preceded in death by his mother, Susan Smith; father, John Smith Sr.; and brother, James Smith.

Memorial services honoring Launch Demo will be held on April 24, 2026. A Celebration of Life will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at 1008 Madison Avenue, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin 53538. Following this, a graveside service will be conducted from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at 1300 Bruton Blvd., Orlando, Florida 32805.

Launch Demo’s life was marked by exemplary dedication to his profession, his family, and his community. His legacy endures in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
