**Obituary for Opal N. Morrell** Opal N. Morrell, a deeply cherished mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, in Winter Haven, Florida. Born on January 24, 1925, in Mitchell County, Georgia, Opal graced the world with her kindness and steadfast loyalty for over a century. Opal was the daughter of Clewis and Nita Hughes, and she grew up instilling values of honesty and generosity in her family. A proud graduate of Auburndale High School, class of 1941, Opal embarked on a remarkable career. She served with dedication as a Floater at People's Bank in Auburndale for eleven years, followed by a successful tenure as a Bookkeeper for McNare in Lake Alfred, from which she also retired after eleven years of committed service. A devoted family woman, Opal is survived by her daughter, Paula Stokes (Jerry), her treasured grandchildren—Lisa Ayers (Michael), Jared Stokes, and Bailie Stokes—and her great-grandchildren, CJ Ayers and Lucas Ayers. Her loving presence will be deeply missed, and she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Morrell, and her son, Joseph L. Morrell (Carolyn). Beyond her professional life, Opal enjoyed a wealth of interests that included sewing, baking, and spending cherished moments with her family. Her passion for travel and camping in her RV brought joy to her life and created lasting memories with those she loved. Graveside services to honor Opal's life will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, 3PM at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens, 2200 K-ville Ave, Auburndale, FL 33823. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Opal's honor to Hope Children's Home, 11415 Hope International Dr., Tampa, FL 33625. In loving memory of Opal N.
